Sunday

Pioneer Village Sunday

Crossing the covered bridge into c. 1850, hands held tightly.

Cornhusk wreath making and flower arranging.

Cooking . . .

and more cooking . . . apple butter . . .
Nothings says fall in Indiana like it !
Visit the sheep, newly shorn.

A working water wheel.

The Lauras cabin, and my friend, Joyce.

Rug hooking made a strong showing.

My talented friend, Carolyn.

Such a fine day.

Pioneer Days

Woke up to a near perfect fall morning.
Too good to miss a chance for a romp in the country
at Pioneer Days, an annual event at Fowler Park.
Grabbed my camera and away we went!

Tuesday

August

"Keep your eye on the ball, your ear to the ground,
your nose to the grindstone, your shoulder to the wheel:
Now try to work in that position."

Summer settles down.
Evenings bring cool breezes.
Picking through the best of the hand dyed wools
left from last springs dye sessions.
(soon the pot will simmer again with
autumns best colors.)
Pulling loops with intensity
on the cusp of an early autumn perhaps.

The hook will not rest
as plans are made
for the fall/holiday round of shows.

Saturday

The Meadows

My cup runneth over ...
I am bulging at the seams ....
I need to get organized!
So here is my new little
corner of the universe.
Pre-prep at the
Country Cabin at
The Meadows.
Now, let's git to settin up!
(hoosier for "roll up your sleeves and make something nice")

Ta-da! Much better!
What a lift. Less muss and fuss
to step over, walk around, and stack
at my barn.
Now back to work!
Shaker Village Traditional Craft show
is less than 4 weeks away.

Friday

More Venoge and Vevay

Here is my bff,
with the hatchet,
looking like she is searching
for a run away chicken,
instead of pounding in the open sign
up at the road !

The village of Vevay,
pronounced Vee-vee,
quiet and still on Sunday morning,
sits on the banks of the
mighty Ohio River.

This heavenly home and barn
belong to a lovely fiber worker, Melodee,
in Vevay. Just off in the
woods is her dye kitchen !
Perfect .....

Southern Indiana

Time traveling last weekend
took me to
Switzerland Co, Indiana.
where I visited
the historic Swiss farmstead
under the wing of my friend
